How are our CBD products analyzed?
The CANNA Foundation team analyzes the cannabinoid content of our oils and creams using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
Liquid chromatography used in the analysis of external laboratories makes it possible to identify and quantify acidic and neutral cannabinoids. It is the most powerful technique that currently exists, since it allows us to know the real content of cananbinoids present in the sample.
The cannabinoids that we can identify and quantify by using HPLC are:
- Acidic cannabinoids: CBDA, CBGA and THCA
- Neutral cannabinoids: CBD, CBDV, THC, THCV, CBG, CBN, CBC
Furthermore, HPLC analysis is the best method to identify and quantify cannabinoids in products that are not going to be smoked or vaporized, as is the case with our CBD creams or CBD oils.
